1. Introduction


The Museum of Illusions is giving the visitors the unique chance to trick their minds and senses with an incredible collection of art. The museum challenges its guests by all means and giving an experience of a new form of education. You can imagine that a museum like this is suitable for families with kids, but it is not only kids that have the most of the fun. It is also the parents. There are lots to see in the museum but highlights include the Vortex Tunnel which is a tunnel with illusions that you will forget to walk for a while inside of it, the Upside Down Room which will force your sense of directions, and holograms collection which will baffle you no matter how many times you look at. The museum welcomes the visitors to bring cameras and kindly reminds to check the batteries before coming in to be sure they are full. There are two museums of illusions in Istanbul one being in the European the other being in the Asian side.

  • Museum of Illusions in the European Side

The museum is open every day between 11.00-19.00 except on Mondays.

  • Museum of Illusions in the Asian Side

The museum is open every day between 10.00-20.00.

3. How to get there


  • Museum of Illusions in the European Side

-From Sultanahmet and the old city hotels,

Take the T1 tram to Kabataş station. From the Kabataş station, take the funicular to Taksim Square. The museum is within walking distance from Taksim Square at the end of Istiklal Street. 

-From Taksim hotels,

The museum is within walking distance from Taksim Square at the end of Istiklal Street. 

  • Museum of Illusions in the Asian Side

-From Sultanahmet and the old city hotels,

Take the T1 tram to Sirkeci station. From the Sirkeci station, take the Marmaray to Sogutlucesme station. From the Sogutlucesme station, walk to the Belediye bus station. From the Belediye bus station, take bus number 15ÇK to Mobilyacilar Sitesi station. From Mobilyacilar Sitesi station, the museum is within walking distance.

-From Taksim hotels
